Reason for keeping a register
The Personal data Act 19§. Collecting and handling of personal data is based on the acceptance of the registered person to receive direct marketing, on the legitimate interest of Fixura and on the substantive link between Fixura and the registered person when Fixura has the right to use the data for marketing and advertising of products and services.
The aim of the register
Personal data in the register is used for direct marketing of Fixura, distance selling, opinion polling or for other comparable measures, for example for sending of newsletters.
Fixura has cooperation partners that act on behalf of Fixura. The authorized cooperation partners have the right to handle data in the Fixura marketing register.
Fixura sends direct marketing for example by e-mail only when the registered person has accepted this procedure.
Contents of the register
Personal data of individuals or the beneficiary of a registered company are handled in the register. The marketing register of the groups mentioned above may contain one or several types of data that can be for example: first name, last name, e-mail address, phone number, mother tongue, address details or other data that has been collected about the person. The register also contains possible direct marketing permissions and bans that the customer has entered.
Regular sources of information
Data about an individual is collected directly from the individual for example through webpage lotteries, competitions or completed forms. Personal data can also be collected and updated from the customer register of Fixura, the population register, from registers of phone companies and from other authorities or companies that offer customer data services.
Data about representatives of companies or communities can be collected from information systems of companies or communites, from the trade register or extracts from the trade register, from the register of Suomen Asiakastieto Oy or Bisnode Oy or from the webpages of the company or community. The data could also have been submitted directly by phone or by e-mail by a representative of the company.
Regular distribution of data
Data from the marketing register of Fixura is not distributed to outsiders. Data can be distributed to authorities in accordance with legislation in force. Data can be distributed to cooperation partners and subcontractors of Fixura if the offered service demands distribution. Fixura can also give an external third party the assignment to handle personal data, if this is done, we guarantee that the personal data is handled in a correct way and according to the valid Personal Data Act.
Distribution of data outside the EU or the EEA
Data can be distributed outside the European Union and the European Economic Area if it is necessary for providing of the service. In such a case Fixura also ensures that personal data is sufficiently and lawfully protected according to for example the EU model clause that has been approved for distribution of data to a third country. Fixura does not sell data in the marketing register to third parties.
Principles for protection of the register
The material is saved in databases protected by a firewall, passwords and by other technical solutions. Only Fixura employees or representatives of Fixura who need the data to carry out their work have access to the data. Each user has a personal username and password. The staff and partners of Fixura are bound by confidentiality regarding the data in the marketing register. Material in writing is stored in the Fixura premises. The premises are locked and monitored.
The right of inspection, the right of prohibition and the right of correction
According to 26 § of the Personal Data Act the registered person has the right to inspect entries about him/her in the register and to request correction of incorrect data. Inspection and correction applications should be submitted in writing to the Fixura customer support at the address firstname.lastname@example.org.
The registered person has the right to deny the use of data in direct marketing, distance selling and opinion polling by notifying this in writing at email@example.com.
